Scope
This policy applies to subscriptions purchased directly from SCUL Systems (Pty) Ltd through the SCUL website or web application. Purchases made through Google Play, Apple or another marketplace may also be subject to that marketplace’s billing and refund rules.
Prices, currency and taxes
The checkout page will show the subscription price, currency, billing period, applicable taxes and the total amount payable before you confirm an order. We will not add an undisclosed charge after confirmation. If a promotional rate has an end date or later standard price, that information will be shown before purchase.
Payment authorisation
By submitting a payment, you confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method and that the billing information you provide is accurate. A subscription is not confirmed until the payment provider authorises the transaction and SCUL issues a confirmation.
If an external payment provider is used, it processes your payment credentials under its own privacy and security terms. SCUL receives transaction confirmation and related records but does not intend to store your complete card number.
Activation and delivery
Access begins after successful payment and account activation. The expected activation time will be shown at checkout or in the order confirmation. Some accounts may require a manual eligibility or security review. We will contact you using the registered email address if more information is required.
If SCUL cannot provide the purchased service within the agreed period, you may cancel and receive any refund required by applicable law.
Renewal and price changes
If recurring billing is selected, the subscription renews at the interval and price disclosed at checkout until cancelled. Any material price or plan change will be communicated before it applies to a future billing period. We will not charge a new price before the effective date stated in that notice.
Cancellation
You may request cancellation by emailing info@scul.co.za from the address registered to your account. Unless law or the checkout terms require otherwise, cancellation stops the next renewal and access continues until the end of the already-paid billing period.
Where a fixed-term consumer agreement is governed by section 14 of the Consumer Protection Act, the statutory notice, renewal and reasonable-cancellation-charge rules will apply.
Refunds and corrections
Payments are generally not refundable after the paid service has been supplied or accessed, unless applicable law requires a refund. SCUL will consider and process refunds where appropriate, including:
- a duplicate or incorrect charge;
- a valid statutory cancellation or cooling-off right;
- failure by SCUL to provide the purchased service within the agreed period;
- a material service failure that SCUL cannot remedy within a reasonable time; or
- another circumstance in which a refund is required by law.
Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method unless another lawful arrangement is agreed. Processing time may vary by payment provider or bank.
Cooling-off rights
Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, a consumer may cancel an online service transaction without reason and without penalty within seven days after the agreement is concluded. This right may not apply where performance began with the consumer’s consent before that period ended or where another statutory exception applies.
Failed and disputed payments
If a renewal payment fails, SCUL may notify you, retry the authorised payment method where permitted, limit paid features or suspend access after reasonable notice. You remain responsible for valid amounts already due. If you do not recognise a charge, contact us promptly so that we can investigate before or alongside any process offered by your payment provider.
Receipts and transaction records
A payment confirmation or receipt will be made available electronically. Please retain it for your records. SCUL and its payment provider may retain transaction records for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute and legal-compliance purposes as described in the Privacy Policy.
Contact
For billing questions, cancellation or a refund request, email info@scul.co.za and include the account email, transaction date and payment reference. Do not send passwords or complete card details.
